I normally don't reread books, but this one will be the exception. I will not give you a “Reader’s Digest” condensed version of this book. I thought the writing was fantastic and it reads at a great clip. Carl's been around more than a few years and before too long he has some budget dollars; he's even been assigned support, a walk-in-off-the-street named Assad. Very first person, from a young persons' perspective. Spoken like a young person, which is part of the story's charm. Sad. While stated to be part of the Russalka universe, I consider it self-contained - I would not quite call the ending a cliffhange...
